On Friday, November 12, the fifth graders held the 12th annual Crystal Spring Egg Drop. NBC, NPR, and The Roanoke Times all turned out to cover our event, which turned out to be one of the most exciting ever.
Fifth graders, what did you think? What devices did you enjoy watching? What ideas will stick with you? And what would you do differently if you could build an Egg Drop contraption again?

Mr.W, I loved the egg drop this year. I liked RA’s because it exploded and everyone knew it was going to. Thank you for letting us do this fun project, I wish I could do it every year!
i loved the egg drop i like how a lot of people were creative i want to do this again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mr.w, I loved the egg drop and all the excitment that came with it. Alot of the people rom my church said they saw me on the news. I hope the oceans project will be just as fun. Thank you for letting me fix my contraption when I realized it had to much string. If i were to do this project again I would problbly would try something like RA’s or BB’s where you knew it was going to break but you injoyed the casilty. I realy liked EP’s idea of the huge gym parachute to help protect the egg even though I was accupied after my drop and could not see it fall. I always enjoy your class and have learned alot this year. Thank you again!
Your student,
